Overview

Blast Radius Chicago is currently seeking an Associate Creative Director (design), or ACD, responsible for aligning creative with strategy and direction from the creative brief. The ACD is to work directly with the client and account team to understand the client’s business motives and translate those objectives into original creative concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Continually develops new ways to inspire and harness creative thinking. Generates and cultivates useful and usable ideas across existing and emerging digital platforms.
  • Creates innovative concepts and develops ideas through to launch.
  • Demonstrates creativity through efficiently conceptualizing, planning, producing, refining and leading a diverse range of creative ideas and concepts.
  • Participates in creative brainstorms and consistently provides big innovative ideas relative to marketing and digital landscape trends.
  • Provides hands-on guidance throughout the project life cycle.
  • Owns assigned projects and manages all aspects of the assignment, team, contractors, creative work, budget and presenting.
  • Works collaboratively with Strategy to execute strategy into content creation.
  • Communicates effectively verbally as well as visually. Presents creative rationale during internal and client presentations.
  • Proactively manages up with the department lead to provide insight and feedback on project status, the work and team member performance.
  • Maintains the integrity of the creative vision; reduces risk and improves viability throughout the entire delivery process.
  • Meets deadlines dependably.
  • Looks for additional business opportunities in client conversations to facilitate organic business growth.
  • Drives the creative solution for new business pitches
  • Serves as mentor to new and/or current employees and assists with employee onboarding and training.
  • May supervise 1-2 employees within the Creative group.
  • Ensures direct reports follow standard policies and procedures. Proactively identifies and recommends improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree - art or copy experience in a direct/relationship marketing agency environment
  • Advanced competencies in Microsoft Office, database, Internet environments and industry-standard software programs
  • Understanding of both the art and copy side and the ability to evaluate both
  • Diverse account and industry experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to team with others and lead when necessary
  • Ability to offer proactive solutions and ensure successful progression
  • Ability to meet high standards for quality and accuracy under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work above and beyond the call of duty and provide guidance across departments in a team and matrix environment
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task effectively
  • Ability to exhibit client service approach with results-driven performance
  • Understanding of how to solve marketing problems with creative solutions
